Why Kindle is #1 bestselling?
No surprise that Kindle is the leading e-reader in marketplace today. When the Kindle’s first arrived they were met with a lot of speculation by those in print media including myself. What happened though is that they revitalized the way people read books and by making book reading more convenient; they have actually caused a large shift in reading at all! Now that people can download their favorite newspaper or purchase a book in an instant; more people want to become avid readers again. Who would have thought?
Finally I got a Kindle too...
The thought of a digital reader was hard for many to swallow. When the Kindle 2 arrived there was already a frenzy of interest and the new and improved features as well as reasonable price made it an immediate hit! Determined to try one for myself I purchased the Kindle 2 with enthusiasm. Amazingly it was wonderful. Not at first – but after a few weeks of becoming acquainted with the features, learning the screens and figuring out which button to hit when – it made my daily reading of everything from emails, newspaper columns to Napoleon Hill a breeze!
The Pros & the Cons
The only thing I wasn’t crazy over about the Kindle was the light up options were few and far between and reading myself to sleep kind of gave me a headache. Luckily being able to enlarge the print size was big help! I loved taking this with me on car trips and in airplanes and have used the speech to read feature just a few times, but It still doesn’t read as well as an audio book.
Since I am not a techno-wizard I didn’t realize until months later that I was able to access my email and the internet with the Kindle. This helped with time management and increased my ability to multi-task both at home and on the road. I have to say that the keyboard is definitely not as ‘fully functional’ as I would like it to be for large blocks of entering texts; but other than that it is workable.Downloading all day...
One of the nice things about owning a Kindle is that there is plethora of material available for download. Some is free, others are available for nominal fees and certain books are available at discounts. You have to realize that the Kindle is definitely an environmentally friendly gadget that is saving paper in huge ways. I am able to download my MS word documents to the Kindle and can handle proofreading and editing without having to print only to throw away the paper down the road.Kindle the best eReader available today
The Kindle is definitely nicer than the original Kindle. It works well for both left and right handed features and getting to know the buttons and features really is easy to learn. Much easier than learning a new software program. The only thing the Kindle doesn’t have is the real feel and smell of books! Somehow, it is an easy trade off when you think about all the benefits and features of owning and using a Kindle.
