The New Kindle
The Kindle DX has
arrived and for many this much anticipated arrival has
been met with minor disappointment that is quickly over
came by a joy that comes from holding a larger and
bolder reader as well as more access to once restricted
PDF Files.
What’s New & Improved about the
Kindle DX?
The Kindle DX has a whopping 7 inch screen that makes it
much more comparable to reading a regular sized document
or book. It also has a larger display space and is at
least 2.5 larger than the older Kindle versions. This
will make it more attractive to seniors or those that
like larger print. Another nice feature is that the
controls and buttons have been moved to the right side
of the Kindle only; which means no more accidental page
turns! If you are a lefty; this may take some
adjustment.
"We love our
new Kindle. It works like a charm. The newspaper
shows up everyday, wirelessly. The print is easier
to read than the newspaper"
The added feature that can convert text from portrait to
landscape; although beneficial for some situations can
be a bit of a hassle as it often flips between the two
without intention. But luckily this can also be turned
off easily! The speech to read features are great and it
is actually possible to listen to books while driving or
performing other activities.
The
Kindle DX was designed and originally intended for
students and business professionals and Kindle amped up
its usability by allowing for the integration of a
larger number of PDF files; including textbooks. The
down side is that many text books and documents are
still not ready for the Kindle; but they are on the way!
Could There Be Anything Wrong
with a Kindle DX?
The launch of Kindle’s has revamped the way people read
and use books! The newest Kindle lives up to its promise
to integrate more technology, better user features as
well as a bolder and larger screen while maintaining
ease of use and portability. Battery features between
the older and newer versions have not changed.
One piece of good news is that just a month after
release; new offers, incentives and discounts are
beginning to appear. For many who just couldn’t wait to
get the new reader – there has been a bit of a wait.
Other complaints claim that the Kindle DX still makes
newspaper reading difficult as the text appears in
blocks; but at least the bigger screen makes those
blocks much more comfortable to read! Enlarging the
fonts is also another great way to enhance readability.
Once a Kindle Always a Kindle
Essentially, Amazon’s Kindle DX is a great progress that
took customer feedback into consideration when
implementing changes! The DX is better, bigger and
easier to use and is definitely a must have for serious
readers, college students and professionals.
